1: Qualifying Criteria
In order to qualify for a free government funded air source heat pump, you must meet all 3 of the following criteria:
- You are the property homeowner
- Your property is not heated by gas
- Someone in your household claims one of following qualifying benefits:
- Child Tax Credit
- Housing Benefit
- Income Support
- Universal Credit
- Working Tax Credit
- Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
- Income Based Job Seekers Allowance
- Income Related Employment & Support Allowance
- Pension Credit Savings Credit
IMPORTANT: If you do not meet all 3 of the above criteria, an air source heat pump will not be an available option as an upgrade for your home. However, you may qualify for other upgrades – we will check what other upgrades you are eligible for.
How do they work?
Air source heat pumps work by moving heat energy from the outdoors into your house – almost like a reverse refrigerator. They are particularly effective because they can produce a lot more heat than the electrical energy needed to run them.
